However, if you decide to tint your car windows, you must consider the Florida car window tinting laws regarding how dark you can go. Every state has its own set of rules that regulate how dark you can tint your car windows. The film you apply must allow for a certain amount of visible light in (VLT or visible light transmission).

The Florida law on car window tinting states that you should follow these rules:

- For the windshield: non-reflective tint may be applied above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line

- Front side windows: window tint must allow more than 28% of light in

- Back side windows: window tint must allow more than 15% of light in

- Rear window: window tint must allow more than 15% of light in

For SUVs and vans, window tint laws are slightly different:

- Windshield: non-reflective tint can be applied above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line

- Front side windows: the tint must allow more than 28% of light in

- Back side windows: the tint must allow more than 6% of light in

- Rear window: the tint must allow more than 6% of light in

Aside from these rules, the Florida window tint law also does not permit colored tint or special tint. However, there are some exemptions to the rules such as medical exemptions. Why Tint Your Car Windows?

There are many reasons why you should consider tinting your car windows if you live in Florida. We get plenty of sunny days and driving in hot weather with glare distracting you can be extremely stressful and difficult. Leaving your car parked outside causes the heat to build up and the AC system cannot cool it off that quickly. Not to mention the fact that you are exposed to the damaging UV rays every day while driving. Car window tints will protect you from the sun, and protect your interior.

Will Car Window Tints Keep Your Car Cooler in The Summer?

Window film prevents heat buildup and helps maintain your car cool even during the summer. Besides, the tint significantly reduces glare and allows you to focus on the road. It blocks the ultraviolet rays and protects your skin.

Will Car Window Tints Increase Security?

There are other benefits associated with tinting your car windows as well such as increase security. Windows with applied tint are stronger and harder to break. Additionally, if you happen to be in an accident, the tint will keep the shattered glass together thus protecting you and your loved ones.
